The past six months have been an absolute whirlwind — professionally, academically, and personally. So much has happened that it’s been nearly impossible to keep up with sharing insights into life’s ever-evolving journey. But now, as things settle into a new cadence, I finally have a moment to reflect and, hopefully, reconnect with you all.

About eight months ago, we learned that the company I worked for was being divested by our parent corporation. As part of the corporate operations team, you can imagine the sheer magnitude of work this created. The level of intensity skyrocketed, forcing me to navigate an endless stream of meetings, strategic pivots, and operational challenges — while still juggling my doctoral studies and traditional familial responsibilities.

If that were not enough, I had also embarked on an entirely different but equally demanding endeavor — publishing my first book. Throughout 2024, I wrote and refined a collection of articles on Artificial Intelligence (AI), exploring its impact on business, leadership, and decision-making. These articles became the foundation for From Data to Decisions: AI Insights for Business Leaders, a project requiring intense time and effort to bring to life. Writing has been instrumental to me, professionally and personally, and has significantly influenced my dissertation research. But, as anyone who has gone through the publishing process knows, it is not for the faint of heart.

Amidst all of this, life still had its demands. Work remains in flux and will likely remain so for the next several months. However, during the chaos, I reached a significant milestone — I officially completed my doctoral coursework and am now a Ph.D. candidate, actively working on my dissertation. While the dissertation process moves slower than my actual studies, it is a welcomed shift that allows me to dive deeper into my research with a more focused lens.

And yes, the book was officially published at the end of January! It was an incredible feeling to see From Data to Decisions finally come to life, and I am beyond grateful for the support and encouragement I have received along the way. I have already started working on a second book, but, like my dissertation, it is progressing at a much steadier and more intentional pace.

I share all of this as an update and an apology for my delays and absence. Life’s priorities have had to shift, and with that, some things — like daily posts and updates — took a temporary backseat. But if the past six months have taught me anything, it’s that it is okay to adjust, reprioritize, and take things at a sustainable pace. What matters most is that we continue to pursue what we love, even if the rhythm changes.

For me, that passion remains research, writing, and sharing knowledge with others — like you. So, while I may not be back to a daily posting schedule just yet, I am looking forward to reconnecting and continuing to share insights, ideas, and reflections in a more regular cadence.

Thank you for sticking with me through this wild season. Here’s to new beginnings, steady progress, and the journey ahead!

P.S. If you want to check out my new book, From Data to Decisions: AI Insights for Business Leaders, it is available on Amazon at https://a.co/d/3r49Cuq. While marketed to businesses, it has a lot of information that anyone interested in AI might enjoy as it is written in as non-technical a way as possible.
